iRacing - Kern County Raceway

iRacing has shared some new preview screenshots showing us the upcoming Kern County Raceway Park which will be added to the iRacing track portfolio this September.

Both the dirt track and the short asphalt track will become available. iRacing will include the pavement oval and dirt oval in one package. If you purchase Kern you get them both at a cost of $11.95.

Kern County Raceway Park is a 0.5-mile (0.80 km) oval speedway located on CA 43 (Enos Lane) just off Interstate 5 in Bakersfield, Kern County, California, United States. Opened in 2013, it was built as a replacement for Mesa Marin Raceway.

The track has banks of 8° in the straightaways, with 14° paved corners. The paved oval was originally planned to be built in 2005, but was delayed due to financial issues. Construction finally began in 2007 and the track was completed in 2013.

The first race at the track was held on May 18, 2013. Kern County Raceway Park has hosted a number of notable races over the years, including the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The track has also hosted the USAC Western Midget Series, the USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series, and the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.
