iRacing has revealed the car that will finalize its 2023 IMSA Gran Touring Prototype class contenders list.
Alongside the BMW M Hybrid V and the Cadillac V-Series.R, iRacing had already posted previews of the Porsche 963 (Type 9R0). To complete the current IMSA GTP class, they only needed to add the HPD Acura ARX-06. Today iRacing confirmed the car sharing some screenshots showcasing the No. 10 Konica Minolta Acura ARX-06 in-game.
Both the Porsche 963 and the Acura ARX-06 will be coming to the iRacing online racing service on September 6 as part of the 2023 Season 4 Build.
The Acura ARX-06 is a sports prototype racing car is designed by Honda Performance Development (HPD) and built by Oreca. It is compliant with the Le Mans Daytona H regulations and competes in the IMSA SportsCar Championship GTP class.
The ARX-06 is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive car with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. It is powered by an Acura AR24e 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces around 600 horsepower. The engine is coupled to a 50 kW (68 hp) electric motor that is mounted on the rear axle. The electric motor provides additional power and torque and also helps to improve the fuel efficiency of the car. The total system output is around 670 horsepower.
The ARX-06 made its debut at the 2023 24 Hours of Daytona, where it won the overall race.
