Back in 2022, Cube Controls SRLS, which is a manufacturer of state-of-the-art sim racing equipment, announced a technical partnership with the renowned German Mercedes-AMG automotive brand, to exclusively develop and manufacture a unique custom steering wheel for the Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series.
The wheel is the result of work that began two years ago, which allowed the company to earn the trust of the prestigious German automotive brand, to the point of creating the real steering wheel for the ‘limited edition Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series and later on the GT2.
As a result of this partnership, the Italian manufacturer has now released the Mercedes-AMG – GT Edition SIM Wheel for the PC.
The Grip-to-Grip 320mm diameter GT rim is built around a die-cast aluminum frame, aluminum back enclosure, a 5mm brushed and anodized aluminum front plate, and ergonomic grips in the same shape as the real Track Series and GT2 cars. The front plate features a carbon badge and a genuine Mercedes Benz logo.
The rim is fitted with 10 Backlight RGB Push buttons, 2 RGB labeled front Rotary encoders, 2 RGB-labeled Thumb Rotary encoders, and 2x multi-directional joystick with integrated encoder.
The rear of the rim features an On/off pushbutton and Motorsport-grade paddle shifters. (the same as used on the real Mercedes-AMG Track Series and GT2 cars)
The wheel rim electronics can be connected by either USB or Bluetooth. The cabled connection is handled by a Q-CONN USB connector and a magnetic Q-conn USB connection cable. The wireless electronics are powered by a 2000mAh LiPo battery, which fully charged by the Integrated charging electronics will keep things running up to 40 hours. A Connection and Battery status LED will keep you informed about the power status of the wheel. (green when charged, red while charging, yellow when out of power)
An optional Wheel Hub will make the rim compatible with all formula-style quick-release hubs (3 bolts, 1-inch and 70mm PCD).
The Cube Controls Mercedes-AMG GT Edition SIM Wheel is available via the official Cube Controls web store for €705,00 excluding tax and shipment.
