Straight4 CEO Ian Bell has been teasing some more eye candy of the upcoming GTRevival game/simulator. It is safe to say that with every new content or feature reveal, the project is starting to generate a lot of excitement among sim racing fans. Once more, the showcased models seem familiar…

Following the recent Lister Storm, Dodge Viper GTS-R, and BMW M3 E46 GTR previews, Ian now shared a game screenshot showcasing the car that is most likely the best representative of the good old Simbin GTR and GTR2 titles. The iconic Ferrari 550 Maranello.

The Ferrari 550 Maranello GT racing car is a highly modified version of the road car that was designed to compete in various GT racing series around the world. The car was developed and built by Prodrive, a British motorsport team that has a long history of success in GT racing.

The 550 Maranello is powered by a front, longitudinally-mounted naturally aspirated 6.0L V12 engine that roughly produced 600 horsepower. The engine is mated to an XTrac 6-speed Sequential gearbox. The car has a top speed of over 330 km/h (205 mph) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3.5 seconds.

The 550 Maranello GT racing car is also significantly lighter than the road car, thanks to the use of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and Kevlar. The car also has a number of aerodynamic modifications, such as a large rear wing and splitter, to help it generate downforce and corner at high speeds. The 550 Maranello GT racing car was a very successful car in competition. It won numerous races and championships in the FIA GT Championship, the American Le Mans Series, and the European Le Mans Series. The car also finished second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003.

Another interesting reveal is the 2023 Ferrari 296 GT3 racer. The shared screenshot showcases the newest Prancing Horse GT racer in the pitlane of the famous North American Sebring track.

The Ferrari 296 GT3 is a grand touring (GT) racing car that is eligible to compete in a variety of GT racing series around the world, including the FIA GT World Challenge Europe, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to name a few.

The 296 GT3 is based on the Ferrari 296 GTB road car but has been extensively modified for both sprint and endurance racing. The F163CE, V6, 2.9L twin-turbo GDI engine produces around 600 horsepower at 7250 rpm. All that power is transferred to the rear wheels via a transversal six-speed sequential gearbox. The car can reach a top speed of over 300 km/h (186 mph) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds.

The GTRevival development team has also been working on some of the track features. The latest track screenshots reveal the 3D grass system. In my humble personal opinion, the shared screenshots also showcase a pretty amazing lighting system, generating some pretty photo realistic images. Keep in mind that all included media represents a work in progress.

Ian Bell said, the bugaboo of all good racing games. You see lovely 3d grass in preview pics which seem to have had a complete shave in shipped product. Well our people have created a grass system that has little overhead but looks good IMHO.
