iRacing New Content - Circuito de Navarra -Oswego Speedway - Street Stock Cars

Today iRacing deployed the the 2024 Season 3 build for its online racing service, including some major updates and a batch of new content.

We already covered the new GTD Pro Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, and Ford Mustang GT3, but there is more new content available. The new build also introduces a new track in the form of the Spanish Circuito de Navarra (3 configs), alongside the Casino and Eagle Street Stock cars, followed by the Oswego Speedway Dirt track (2 configs, Dirt Oval) which will be added in a following patch shortly after this Season 3 update.

Furthermore the update introduces the German Sachsenring circuit and a new Track Configuration for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval NASCAR version.

Let’s check them out.

Circuito de Navarra

The Circuito de Navarra is a motorsport race track located near Los Arcos in northern Spain. It opened in June 2010 and is 3.9 kilometers long. Besides the main track, the venue also features a half-mile karting circuit, a skid pan, and an off-road arena. The track layout is varied, with a fast and flowing opening section that transitions to a twisty and technical back half.

The circuit has hosted races in the Superleague Formula Series, the World Superbikes Championship, the FIA GT1 World Championship, various historic races, a number of national motorcycle and formula championships, and more. The track is also regularly used for track day meetings.
All iRacers are able to race Navarra as an included part of their subscription.

Casino & Eagle Street Stocks

Depending on the race track and its rules (and your budget), Street Stocks range from little more than a street car with its interior gutted, its windows removed, and a rudimentary roll cage to a full-on race car with a highly-tuned engine, upgraded suspension and plastic bodywork conforming to the shape of the original street car.

iRacing’s Street Stock is built to the full-on race car rules). Regardless of the specific rules, turning a street car into a Street Stock is not only less expensive than buying a purpose-built race car, but the process of building a race car from a street car helps wanna-be race drivers and mechanics learn the fundamentals of race car construction, maintenance, and setups. And learning is what it’s all about, for Street Stocks is the class to learn the basics of stock car racing.

Oswego Speedway

The Oswego Speedway is a 5/8 mile paved historic asphalt oval track located in Oswego, New York. The track nicknamed “The Steel Palace” was built in 1951, and started as a dirt track but was paved the following year.

Oswego Speedway boasts a rich history. It’s been a continuously operating track since it opened and has hosted events for various national racing tours, including the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, ASA National Tour, and USAC Silver Crown Series.

The biggest racing weekend of the year is the Budweiser Classic Weekend held annually on Labor Day Weekend. It features the iconic 200-lap, non-wing, big-block super modified Budweiser Classic race. The track is particularly renowned for its Supermodified events. It’s the last track in the world to have Supermodifieds as part of its weekly races.

Sachsenring

The Sachsenring is a motor racing circuit located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Germany. Designed by Hermann Tilke, the Sachsenring is known for its distinctive layout. The 3.6-kilometer track features a unique omega-shaped section that winds around a wooded hill. It also has a good mix of corners, including fast-flowing sections and tight, technical turns, demanding a versatile car setup from drivers.

The venue hosted races of the ADAC Super Tourenwagen Cup, the DTM, the ADAC GT Masters and the FIA GT1 World Championship, to name a few.
