At the beginning of May, Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games added a new free add-on to the PC version of Assetto Corsa Competizione in the form of the Ford Mustang GT3.
Now the Italian developer released the Ford Mustang GT3 for its Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 versions of ACC. At the time of writing, I could not yet find a console update changelog.
The 2024 Ford Mustang GT3 is a track-only race car that was co-developed by Ford Performance and M-Sport. It is based on the S650 generation Mustang and made its debut at the 24 Hours of Daytona in January of 2024.
The car is powered by a 5.4-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine that has been specifically revised for racing by M-Sport. While exact specifications haven’t been released, it is expected to produce around 500 horsepower. The engine is paired with a six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters.
The Mustang GT3 features an aggressive aerodynamic package that includes a large front splitter, dive planes, a prominent rear wing, and a diffuser. The car also rides on a set of lightweight wheels with Michelin racing slicks.
The Mustang GT3 is currently only available to racing teams, but it has already been entered into several GT racing series around the world, including the IMSA SportsCar Championship, the GT World Challenge Europe, and the FIA World Endurance Championship.
