Assetto Corsa Competizione – Imola Teaser
With F1 returning to the Italian Imola circuit this weekend, Kunos Simulazioni took the opportunity to tease us with a very interesting screenshot.
Via Twitter, the Italian developer posted an in-game Assetto Corsa Competizione preview showcasing the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola. A perfect fit for ACC as th iconic Italian circuit also hosted a round in the 2020 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, and the 2020 GT4 European Series.
No further details were shared, but taking this teaser into account, it is safe to assume that it wont be long before the track will be released
The Italian Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari or Imola as it is mostly called is situated near the Italian town of Imola, 40 kilometers (24.9 mi) east of Bologna. The venue which holds an FIA Grade 1 license, hosted the Formula One San Marino Grand Prix.
Sadly enough the track is most remembered for the fatal accidents of Formula One drivers Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.
Since 2007, the circuit has undergone major revisions. In an attempt to reinstate the circuit into the Formula One calendar, the circuit was renovated in 2010. The pit lane and garages were demolished and replaced by a modern, extended complex. Variante Bassa was also removed so that the circuit now runs flat-out from Rivazza to Tamburello. In 2008, the circuit was given a 1T FIA rating, allowing for F1 test events to be held.
