Kunos Simulazioni, 505 Games, and the SRO Motorsports Group proudly announced that the modern tribute version of the Porsche 935 and the 911 GT2 RS CS EVO Kit are coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione.
If all goes as planned, the GT2 Pack DLC including both cars should be available in January 2024. Interestingly, (And if I am right) the included promo video also seems to tease a new yet-to-be-confirmed track.
First teased in July of this year, the GT2 Pack DLC is supposed to include the SRO Fanatec GT2 European Series Championship, being the Audi R8 LMS GT2, Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo GT2, KTM X-BOW GT2, Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport, Mercedes AMG GT2, and the Maserati MC20 GT2. Ah yes… Then there is also the Brabham BT63 GT2 that raced in the 2022 invitational class.
Let’s see which cars make it to the DLC. I will keep you posted when more included content, or details are shared.
Porsche 935 Tribute
Introduced in 2019 as a homage to Porsche’s legendary 935 Group 5 race car, the modern 935 is a limited-production track-only vehicle that blends heritage with cutting-edge technology. With its sharp aerodynamic profile, powerful engine, and focus on pure driving enjoyment, the modern 935 is a truly modern interpretation of a motorsport icon.
Only 77 examples of the modern 935 were produced, making it one of the most exclusive Porsches ever made. Each car was priced at a staggering $817,000, which reflects its rarity and its performance capabilities.
GT2 RS Clubsport Evo Kit
The Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport Evo Kit is an upgrade package for the already potent 911 GT2 RS Clubsport race car. It’s designed to enhance the car’s aerodynamics, performance, and overall driving experience.
The Evo Kit features a number of modifications to improve the car’s aerodynamics, including a larger rear wing, a revised front splitter, and enlarged side skirts. This helps to generate more downforce, which improves stability and traction at high speeds. Furthermore, it includes a new front diffuser, which helps to direct airflow under the car and improve cooling. This helps to keep the car’s engine and brakes cool, even during intense racing sessions.
In addition, the Evo Kit includes a new suspension system with adjustable dampers and springs. This allows drivers to fine-tune the car’s handling to suit their preferences and the specific track conditions. Besides the named aerodynamic and performance enhancements, the Kit also includes a number of safety features, such as a FIA-compliant roll cage, a fire suppression system, and an integrated rain light. These features help to make the car safer and more compliant with FIA regulations for motorsport competition.
