Assetto Corsa – IER Porsche 991 GT3 GTA preview video

The International Endurance Racing Modding Group are still hard at work on their 2014 Tudor Sports Car Championship mod for Assetto Corsa.

One of the featured cars in the mod is the Porsche 991 GT3 GTA, as it is raced in the real world TUSC Series. Team member and well known 3D modeler Patrik Marek has uploaded the first Assetto Corsa video showing us the IER Porsche 991 GTA model in action on the Spa-Francorchamps track. Keep in mind that the in-game car model is not yet finished and that the physics and sounds are pretty much an early work in progress.

While most modding teams rename any modding effort related to the popular Porsche brand due to the legal problems we have seen in the past, the IER modding team decided to keep the real name for the car. Sadly enough, for the last 15 years the Porsche gaming license is exclusively owned by Electronic Arts who are basically just using it for their “Real Racing” mobile game. The Porsche 911 GT America is built exclusively for the GT Daytona class of the IMSA Tudor United SportsCar Championship. The car is based upon the 991 GT3 Cup currently being raced in the Supercup. However, the car has been modified to cope with the specific needs of endurance racing.
