Assetto Corsa – Interview with Sebastian Hornung (Porsche)
Last Tuesday, we reported that during an interview with Sebastian Hornung who is the Manager Branded Entertainment at Porsche AG it was confirmed that Porsche had terminated its exclusive license agreement with Electronic Arts. We had forgotten to post the actual interview by gamereactorTV, so here you go.
The end of the exclusive Porsche/Electronic Arts agreement opens up an interesting opportunity for other racing Game/Simulation developers who will now be able to acquire a Porsche license for their own title. This is wonderful news for the sim racing community as we once more will be able to drive Porsches on our favorite sim racing platforms.
It all started when Kunos Simulazioni started to collaborate with Porsche AG to provide them with an Assetto Corsa Pro version for use in their Porsche Experience centers around the world. During the interview, Sebastian Hornung talks to Gamereactor’s David Caballero about how the partnership came to be and is hinting that Porsche might have some eSports plans.
Kunos Simulazioni already released two Porsche branded DLC packs for their Assetto Corsa racing simulator. The third Porsche pack DLC will become available on December 20. Turn10 Studios and Slightly Mad Studios have also hinted that they will add Porsche models to respectively Forza Horizon 3 and Project CARS. Let us hope that some more developers can acquire a Porsche content license.
