Assetto Corsa – Latest A.I updates Video

As with every sim racing title out there, Kunos Simulazioni’s Assetto Corsa got its fair share of criticism whilst being under development. Of all the major game features of Assetto Corsa, the A.I element received the most complaints.

When we look at the latest V1.14 update, it becomes clear how far the game has come since its initial release. With every update, Assetto Corsa’s lead programmer, Stefano Casillo pushes forwards new and improved code to upgrade all aspects of the game. This is most clearly demonstrated by the regular enhancement to the A.I feature of the game.

To prove a point, Kunos Simulazioni’s product brand manager Marco Massarutto shared an interesting video showing the latest Assetto Corsa A.I algorithms in action. In a random AC race, he placed the Toyota TS040 in the last position on the grid and shows off the A.I capability to overtake slower cars at the Barcelona circuit, where safe overtaking is not an easy task.

To quote Marco Massarutto, “Sorry to be late, but good things need time.”
