Kunos Simulazion announced that the long awaited Assetto Corsa multiplayer functionality will be released on Friday May 2. Under normal circumstances, the next AC update was scheduled for tomorrow, but is now delayed till next week. Kunos Simulazioni stated that there is a very good reason for this delay.

In Italy Liberation Day is celebrated on the 25th of April.Releasing the Multiplayer function on a national public holiday would mean that the developers would not be able to provide sufficient support because the provider that will be used to host the racing servers would not be able to assist should anything go wrong. It is also vitally important that the multiplayer functionalities of the Assetto Corsa Simulator can be carefully monitored on launch day to gather important feedback from this first public test. The Assetto Corsa multiplayer feature will bring the Sim to a new level, and will probably attract even more Sim Racers to compete to this next gen PC racer. There are robust celebrations around the country to commemorate this day.
