Assetto Corsa PS4 Preview & Marco Massarutto Interview (Team VVV)
Yesterday, Kunos Simulazioni published the official Assetto Corsa Console announcement trailer introducing the popular PC Racing simulation to the console community.
VVV Gamer’s Alan Boiston interviewed Executive Manager and Co-Founder of KUNOS Simulazioni Marco Massarutto. During the interview, Marco talks about the development of Assetto Corsa and shares some information regarding the conversion process needed to bring the simulator to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
Marco confirmed that the biggest difference between the PC and console versions is the user interface. This is particularly good news for future AC console users who were slightly worried that the PS4 and Xbox One versions would feature dumbed down car physics.
It is stated that the Kunos Simulazioni dev team did all they could to match the physics on the consoles and PC system. Also graphically, the final product should show little or no difference between the console and PC platforms. Performance wise, the PlayStation 4 version will be capped at 60 fps and run in a 1080p resolution, while the Xbox One version will, Quote “run at “more or less” 60 fps at 900p”.
Many of the current community members started their PC sim racing hobby after enjoying a selection of console racers. It will be interesting to see if the console release of Assetto Corsa will inspire console video gamers to check out the PC racing simulation scene.
