Assetto Corsa Released on the PS4 and Xbox One
After some delays, Kunos Simulazioni, and 505 Games have now proudly released their Assetto Corsa racing simulator on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in Europe. North American players will be able to join in on the fun on August 30th.
The PC version of Assetto Corsa was first released through the Steam Early Access program on 8 November 2013 and has since then become one of the most successful sim-racing titles to date. Currently, Assetto Corsa is ranked among the most played racing sims on the Steam platform.
In June 2015, Kunos Simulazioni announced that they would bring the racing simulation to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles and were both scheduled to be released on 22 April 2016. For development reasons, and to deliver the most polished experience possible the initial release date had to be postponed a few times. So we are sure the console community will be delighted that the first simulation focused racing game for the consoles is finally here.
Main Features:
- Over one hundred high-detailed car models, featuring realistic physics.
- Customisable setups for all cars.
- 24 different laser-scanned track configurations, including famed courses such as Silverstone Circuit, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
- Single racing mode, with customizable Race Weekends, preset Challenges or full-scale Career Mode.
- Refined race-craft AI.
- Multiplayer mode with up to 16 players online.
Furthermore, the console version of the game features an entirely new user interface and is optimized for use with a gamepad. Needless to say, a Force Feedback racing wheel is still preferred to have the best racing experience.
In their own words, Assetto Corsa is built by racing enthusiasts, for racing enthusiasts. We are curious to see how the popular PC racing simulator will stack up against the household names such as Gran Turismo 6 on the PS4 and Forza Motorsport 6 on the Xbox One. Console racers will be in for a treat because it is safe to say that Assetto Corsa is a game of a whole different breed. Assetto Corsa can easily be called the most realistic racing simulator available for the consoles to date.

Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games made clear that due to licensing issues, the Fanatec wheels do not appear on the supported wheel list of the PS4 console. However, Kunos Simulazioni is hoping that Sony and Fanatec will find a solution for this less than ideal situation.
