Assetto Corsa – RUF officially licensed

A while ago Kunos Simulazioni has posted a poll asking the Assetto Corsa community to vote for the car brands they would like to see appear in the Assetto Aorsa simulator. This way the Kunos Simulazioni marketing team could evaluate and line out a licensing strategy. To please a community, and make your product worth while, you first have to be aware of the wishes and preferences of your current, and potentially new customers.  This way, KS once more showed they do care about the community’s wishes, and try to make them reality whenever possible.

The poll clearly defined a list of most wanted cars and tracks that could eventually could become Assetto Corsa content. One of the most voted for car brands was the German RUF Automobile. This German company started out as being a car tuner that specialised in the restoration and rebuilds of vintage Porsche cars. Modern RUF vehicles are in essence built up from a Porsche chassis and than further enhanced in both performance and design.

Kunos Simulazioni announced that no less than three RUF Automobile car models are now officially licensed for Assetto Corsa!  The development teams revealed the first “work in progress” screenshots of the RUF CTR Yellowbird.  The Yellowbird is probably one of the best known RUF cars out there. The 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird was a limited-production, Porsche 3.2 litre flat-six  powered 911 with lightened body panels, integrated roll cage and custom-designed transmission. In its time this RUF could rival the iconic Ferrari Testarossa and Lamborghini Countach supercars.
