Assetto Corsa RUF RT 12R in-game previews
Kunos Simulazioni posted a set of new in-game preview screens showing us the Assetto Corsa RUF RT 12R that will be part of the upcoming Dream Pack #2 DLC.
As with most game and simulation software products, Assetto Corsa has to rely on a license by the German RUF brand to bring the closest thing to a Porsche into the game.
Ever since video game publisher Electronic Arts released Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed (15 years ago), racing game, and simulator development studios have not been able to licence and include the popular Porsche brand in their product. Basically, we have not been able to drive Porsches due to a weird exclusivity contract Porsche has with Electronic Arts. The Assetto Corsa Dream Pack #2 will include 10 cars and the Circuit of Catalunya. So far Kunos Simulazioni’s licensing manager Marco Massaruttos has shown us Dream Pack #2 preview screenshots of the following cars:
- Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 003
- RUF RT12R
- Audi R8 LMS
- BMW M4
- Ford GT40
- Lamborghini Countach
- Lamborghini Huracan GT3
The Ruf Rt 12 is a sports car built by Ruf Automobile of Germany and based on the 997-Generation Porsche 911.
Ruf Automobile of Germany first introduced the latest Rt 12 R at the 2011 Geneva International Motorshow. This Porche derived supercar is powered by a 3.8 liter twin turbocharged boxer engine that delivers 537 kW (730 bhp) of power. All that power is transmitted to all four wheels by a six-speed gearbox.
The lightweight RUF RT12 R features a Stripped-down interior, carbon fiber bonnet, front bumper aluminum doors, and polycarbonate windows to reduce the weight. The Car has been fitted with aerodynamic and performance upgrades such as a carbon fiber rear wing, rollcage, and ceramic brakes, making is a very suitable track day racing car.
