AussieStig – First Look & Review – REAL GT Concept

Recently, AussieStig toured the United States and took the opportunity to visit a selection of interesting Sim Racing and Driver Training related projects.

One of these impressive projects is without a doubt the Real GT simulator concept by Wil Tosado. REAL GT is a simulation platform that tries to give its operators the most authentic automotive platform for driver training, location entertainment, e-sports, and hobbyists.

Combined with several different technologies, the simulator boasts a D-BOX quad motion system and is focussed on offering its occupant(s) the most immersive Sim Racing experience possible.

In his latest video, AussieStig shows us the 2-Seater REAL GT Proto#1 proof of concept rig and talks about the details of the upcoming production version. After a tour of all the current REAL GT Simulator features, AussieStig shares a full lap of the Nordschleife using the fast Pagani Zonda.

REAL GT Key attributes and advantages

• REAL GT is a 1 to 1 experience. When inside the REAL GT you are instantly familiar with the environment and the feeling of being in an actual race car.
• The visual system used by REAL GT provides a 210-degree FOV, giving the driver full visual coverage. Everything you see from the driver seat is what you would see in real life, no
  immersion breaking distractions.
• REAL GT includes a multi-speaker surround sound experience to give a true positional sound experience.
• The tactile experience is enhanced by the dual-stage implementation of D-Box generation 3 motion coupled with 7 advanced ButtKicker transducers mounted in strategic locations on the chassis to give accurate road, tire, transmission, braking, and several other tactile cues.

• REAL GT is the first commercial/pro-grade simulation racing platform that is completely controllable by a single operator, from the cockpit. REAL GTs central stack LCD provides the operator with the ability to manipulate the entire ecosystem with no mouse or keyboard.  The touch-based LCD can control the PC, simulation, telemetry, etc.  No other personal is needed to have a complete experience.
• REAL GT is 100 VR/AR compatible. REAL GT is available as a VR only chassis.  The advantage of the REAL GT as a VR platform is the implementation of augmented reality using the XTAL 8K headset.  The partnering of REAL GT and XTAL means that you can have the widest FOV, the clearest and most realistic images, and total control of your real-world controls while still being in the VR world.  REAL GT is the first simulator in the world outside of the military to have this ability.  You can still use all your real-world pro gear and interact with it with your real hands.  Nothing breaks immersion faster in VR than your avatars body and hands not mimicking what your real-life hands and body do.
• The REAL GT is art.
