Automobilista 2 – Major Update And Hockenheim DLC Coming This Month
Reiza Studios confirmed that they will release the first major update for their Automobilista 2 Racing Simulator before the end of July.
The update will include a good amount of fixes and improvements, but will also introduce the Hockenheim DLC featuring both modern and various historical versions of the German GP circuit.
And there is more good news. Reiza Studios is extending its release promo offer which means that all current AMS2 owners will receive the Hockenheim DLC free of cost. That also means that those who purchase AMS2 between now and the update release will also receive the DLC for free.
The present Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg is a FIA Grade 1 racing circuit situated in the Rhine valley near the town of Hockenheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany that was redesigned by Hermann Tilke. The track hosted the German F1 Grand Prix for the first time in 1970 and is one of the most famous DTM tracks, usually hosting the first and final race of the DTM season.
The Hockenheimring was built in 1932, after a year earlier, Ernst Christ submitted the plans for a circuit to the mayor of Hockenheim. This first layout of the track was around 12 kilometers long and consisted of a large triangle like section, a hairpin in the city and two straights connecting them.
In 1965, a new 6.823 km (4.240 mi) version of the Hockenheim circuit was built, including the famed “Motodrom” stadium section, and four very fast straights of roughly 1.3 km. In the early 2000s, F1 officials demanded the track to be shortened due to competition from other tracks resulting in the 4.574 km (2.842 mi) circuit we know today.
The Automobilista 2 release version is currently available via Steam for €36,99, while the Automobilista 2 + 2020-2021 Season Pass Bundle is available for €114,28.
