Ayrton Senna Gran Turismo 6 content coming

20 Years ago on 1 May 1994 Brazilian Ayrton Senna da Silva who is considered one of the greatest drivers in the history of racing, lost his life while leading the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. After driving for Toleman, Lotus, McLaren and finally Williams he managed to win three Formula One world championships. Numerous documentaries and publications regarding his private life and racing career, have kept the memory of the legend alive.

In 2013 Polyphony Digital announced their plans to support the Ayrton Senna Institute. An NGO founded  in November 1994, by Ayrton Senna’s sister and mother of Formula One driver Bruno Senna. This NGO is set up to create opportunities for human development of children and young Brazilians. It was Ayrton’s Senna’s dream to try and provide the poorer children of Brazil with the opportunity to realize their own potential.

During the month of May, Polyphony Digital will be launch of a new Senna Tribute website in memory of Ayrton Senna. To start of, director Tamir Moscovici whom you know from the previously released “KAZ, Pushing the Virtual Divide”” docu, created a short film called “Ayrton’s Wish”. This documentary explains us the purpose of the Ayrton Senna Institute.

Secondly, This month Polyphony Digital will make new some Ayrton Senna Gran Turismo 6 content available in Gran Turismo 6. The first Ayrton Senna car to appear is probably the Lotus 97T formula 1 car. The fast but often unreliable Lotus 97T was designed by Gérard Ducarouge and built by Team Lotus. It was powered by the turbocharged 1.5L Renault engine producing approximately 900 bhp (671 kW; 912 PS).

In 1985 Lotus signed the then rising star, Ayrton Senna. Ayrton managed to put the car on pole no less than 7 times that season.  He managed his first GP win in Portugal followed up by victory in Spa Francorchamps. After 3 victories, 2 second places and 4 third places, the Lotus 97T finished fourth in the constructors championship. From then on and after his turbulent rivalry with Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna da Silva became a household name when talking about the best and most victory driven Formula one drivers in the world.
