Behind the Scenes of the Fanatec Arena

Back in 2021, the German Sim Racing peripheral manufacturer Fanatec became the title sponsor of the GT World Challenge Powered by AWS, organized by the SRO Motorsports Group which is the biggest real-world GT championship promotor in the world.

This multi-year deal between the SRO Motorsports Group and Fanatec aimed to further integrate e-sports and real-world competition into one sport. During all rounds of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the Total 24 Hours of Spa, esports contests are hosted using Assetto Corsa Competizione, the official video game of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS.

All that action is taking place in the Fanatec Arena which has to be built up for every Fanatec GT World Challenge Esports GT Pro Series race. Let’s have a look at how the SRO Motorsports Group, and its partner AK Esports, built, and prepare the Fanatec Arena for those awesome eSport events.
