iRacing BMW Z4 GT3
Its no secret that iRacing is working on the BMW Z4 GT3 for its Online racing platform. This GT3 racer will become part of the iRacing GT3 Series. In this series iRacing members will be able to choose between the RUF ( Porsche GT3 replacement), Mclaren MP4-12c and this BMW z4 GT3, bringing a 3 car multi-class to the official GT Series races.
In this episode of iRacingTV you can have a look behind the scenes as the iRacing development team builds and prepares the iRAcing BMW Z4 GT3 for the online racing service. You will witness the entire building process that starts with Data gathering. Once all the necessary data is available the team starts working on the actual 3D model. In parallel the first work on sound and physics starts to take shape. Further more you will get some more insights into the updated suspension model the team is working on.
The wait will not be to long since iRacing already announced that the BMW Z4 GT3 will be released during our late April software upgrade of the iRacing platform. Up and till now cars in iRacing had a much longer time span between announcement and release making this one of the fastest build models in iRacing.
The European BMW Z4 GT3 is built to FIA GT3 regulations, but is modified in the united states to fit the GTE class regulations. The BMW Z4 GT3 is as a factory customer car that can be purchased by private teams. It is Powered by a 4.4-litre eight-cylinder engine derived from the BMW M3 GTS, and can produce approx. 515 PS (379 kW; 508 bhp), weighting in at 1,190 kilograms.
