Italian Cube Controls SRLS revealed a number of new products in its high-end sim racing wheel lineup for both the professional and sim racing enthusiast market.
Let’s start with the new GTX2 wheel which is a completely redesigned iteration of the Cube Controls GT-X flagship GT Wheel. While no official specs are listed, the most noticeable features of the rim are the integrated 5-inch LCD display with RGB REV LEDs, and the interchangeable grips, enabling the user to customize the grip size (30 or 32) and the material.
From what the pictures show us, we can see the wheel is fitted with 10 high-end (probably Backlit) Push Buttons, 5 Rotary Encoders, 2 Thumb Rotary Wheels, and 2 Knitter Switches. The rear of the wheel rim houses both a set of clutch and shifter paddles.
At the time of writing, no official release date or pricing is communicated.
Back in March, Cube Controls proudly announced a technical partnership with the renowned German Mercedes-AMG automotive brand, to exclusively develop and manufacture a unique custom steering wheel for the Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series. The original wheel was developed exclusively for the real-world trackday car but now the partnership seems to have resulted in the development of two new sim racing wheel rims.
During the ongoing 2022 ADAC SimRacing Expo at the NürnbergMesse in Nuremberg, Germany, Cube Controls revealed two new Mercedes-AMG branded sim racing steering wheels. For now, no official details are shared. I will keep you up to date when more detailed info becomes available.
Last but not least, Cube Controls introduced their upcoming F-CORE formula wheel. The wheel is going to be marketed as an entry-level product while retaining some of the premium features of the higher-tier wheels. Once again, I will keep you informed when more official details are published.
