CXC Simulations – Eye-Tracking feature
And here is one we missed out on.
A few months ago Indycar driver Townsend Bell visited CXC Simulations to familiarize himself with Baber Motorsports park and try CXC’s new eye tracking feature.
While in the CXC Motion Pro II Simulator, Townsend is driving the virtual IndyCar on the iRacing version of Baber Motorsports park while wearing a pair of glasses fitted with two cameras that are tracking the point of gaze. This way the driver or instructor can track and record where one is looking while driving.
This technology is perfect for coaching because it enables the driver or instructor to analyze the driver behavior while on approach and through corners or looking at the data screens or steering wheel. It can also be a tool to detect and measure mental or physical fatigue. The eye tracking data can be recorded and replayed after each session, allowing for correction and instruction.
The eye tracking feature is available with the CXC add-on Instructor Station for professional coaching. The add-on Instructor is a driver-coaching program that is available for private training, as well as commercial use. The program, developed for CXC’s Motion Pro II, couples advanced telemetric software and eye tracking technology which allows users to track and analyze race statistics and tendencies to their most finite details.
In 2007 Chris Considine founded CXC Simulations. Based in Los Angeles, California, he started building simulators for both professional drivers and motorsports enthusiasts. It did not take long before the CXC Motion Pro was born.
Today the famous CXC Motion Pro Simulator is the pride of the company. Purpose built for professional and commercial environments. From a standard to fully customized system, the CXC Motion Pro II is one of the most advanced racing simulators on the market today.
