Barry Rowland of the Sim Racing Garage reviews the D-BOX Gen-5 Haptic Actuator System and takes an in-depth look at the updated version of the ASR6 cockpit by Advanced Sim Racing.
Canada-based D-BOX Technologies is a company that designs, manufactures, and commercializes motion systems for the entertainment, simulation, and training markets worldwide.
Recently D-BOX revealed its Gen-5 Haptic Actuator System. This new generation of the famed D-BOX motion system sports a more compact design, a new haptic bridge controller that features a simple, single USB connection, and a new voltage protection system. Also, for the first time ever, all individual G5 actuators come equipped with a voltage switch that allows you to instantly change the configuration between a 110V setup and a 230V setup.
The D-BOX innovative new haptic system is the first and only to be licensed by the FIA thanks to over 20 years of research, development, and improvements. The subtlety of the feedback and the unparalleled capacity of the system to replicate high frequencies are a step up from systems that rely solely on G-Force and travel speed.
In this special episode, Barry combines the D-BOX Gen-5 system review with an in-depth look at the recently updated ASR6 cockpit by Advanced Sim Racing, which is also based in Canada.
