Dirt Rally development update
This week Codemasters was planning to release the Modern Masters pack update for Dirt Rally. This had to be postponed because the development team did not yet receive the necessary permissions to feature one of the cars. However, Codemasters are confident that the update will go live somewhere during the coming week.
The pack will include a selection of modern rally cars that are common to the rally scene but are not exactly the best know. In the R4 Class, the Subaru Impreza WRX STi Hatchback and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X are the cars to look out for. Furthermore, also two cars will be added to the 2 litre 2000s class in the form of a Citroën C4 Rally and Ford Focus RS Rally.
With the upcoming update, the Group B and Group A cars will feature the v.2 handling model. Keep in mind that when the update goes live, the leaderboards for these car classes will be reset. The development team now continues work implementing the v.2 handling system on Kit Cars, Group B RWD, and Pikes Peak cars, making them ready for the Winter Wonderland Pack.
Besides new content, the coming update will also include the usual fixes and improvements. Codemasters will reveal the full list later on, but here are a few of the highlights.
- Adjusted some of the co-driver call timings in Finland we’ve also made them louder too
- Advanced custom wheels settings now save correctly (including clutch dead-zone and saturation settings)
- Fixed some achievements that weren’t working correctly
- The mouse pointer hides when the mouse is not in use
Additionally, Codemasters have also succeeded in squeezing in some of the community requested features. Stage Distance and Elevation have now been added to the stage information screens. You will also have manual control using the windscreen wipers and the headlamps.
It will also be so that when you haven’t repaired a damaged part in the service area, you will more likely run into mechanical issues when continuing your stages. You will also be able to adjust your settings without having to pause in an online race.
Furthermore, the visual in-game steering wheel rotation will now match the rotation of your actual steering wheel when the driver arms animation is turned off. Last but not least you will be able to adjust the seat position by moving it forwards, backwards or tilt it.
