Euro Truck Simulator 2 version 1.11 update news
SCS Software is working hard to bring you the next big update for their Euro Truck Simulator 2. This update will bring the title to version 1.11 with new physics, AI, simulation, and gameplay refinements.
At the moment this patch is under extensive testing. With the update news, SCS also posted a set of new screens captures, giving you a taste of what’s to come. Most screens are taken from the new map area’s picturing the Klagenfurt am Wörthersee region and the border between Italy and Austria.
The patch will bring several additional features to the truck simulation. The Tempomat (Cruise control) received an additional mapping. Now it will be possible to map the keys/buttons on the controller of your choice to increase or decrease speed, in addition to just having enable/disable hot-key. This should make cruise control act as the real thing.
The air brake sound now reacts at a more realistic timing. The retarder indicator is lit during automatic retarder usage, and you can now configure the maximum steering angle in game options. (A retarder is a device used to augment or replace some of the functions of primary friction-based braking systems, usually on heavy vehicles.)
The Seat Adjuster feature has been updated. The side mirrors are now adjusting their perspective when changing your seat position , creating a much more realistic mirror perception. This should also be noticeable to users with TrackIR head-tracking devices or virtual reality head-sets. Another little new feature is the ability to sell a garage or relocate your headquarters to another city.
On the physics side, the SCS development team have added support for sway bar simulation. Refining the composition of the truck suspension has given the dev team more control over truck and trailer stability. The center of gravity of all cargo’s is now recalculated, achieving more individual behavior of the whole rig depending on what is being transported. With this feature it will be more likely to flip the trailer when you apply too much vigor during cornering.
The collisions between the player’s truck and AI vehicles are improved. The inertia of vehicles when colliding with an object, or when scrubbing a guardrail now look more realistic. With this optimization, also the scratch and crash sounds have been updated. At request of the Euro Truck Simulator 2 community, the sound system is now improved in a considerable way by creating a better balance between interior and exterior sounds.
Another feature that is worth mentioning is that the Route Advisor can now display current road speed limits, as available in common car GPS devices. The Route Advisor will even show truck specific speed limits. This is an optional feature that can be hidden in the game options.
