In April, German Sim Racing peripheral manufacturer Fanatec, introduced the Fanatec CSL DD Wheelbase, bringing Direct Drive to the low-priced Fanatec CSL ecosystem, without taking any shortcuts in quality or performance. Somewhat later, at the beginning of May, Fanatec surprised us once more by announcing the Fanatec CSL Pedals. Both products aim and succeed to make high-end sim racing equipment more affordable.
The third and final pre-order wave is now active in all regions, meaning that the CSL DD and its accessories are now visible on the site to everyone, but it is still limited to one unit per customer.
The Fanatec CSL DD wheelbase (5 Nm) starts at 349.95 EUR (incl. VAT), 349.95 USD (excl. VAT), 599.95 AUD, 47,900 JPY. + shipping. This is considerably lower than some competitor belt-driven solutions. Therefore it is safe to say that with this product price point Fanatec decapitated the current competition, and has now set a new standard.
When you add it to the basket, you’ll be asked whether you wish to upgrade to the Boost Kit 180 (8 Nm). If you add the Boost Kit 180 in this way, the discount will automatically be applied, meaning that you will have 8 Nm direct-drive performance for 479.95 EUR (incl. VAT), 479.95 USD (excl. VAT), 829.90 AUD, 65,500 JPY.
The Fanatec CSL DD wheelbase (5 Nm) and the CSL DD Boost Kit 180 (8 Nm) bundle are scheduled to ship on Nov 23, 2021.
The (two-pedal) CSL Pedals set is retailed starting at just 79.95 €/$ (€ incl. VAT, $ excl. VAT) + shipping. Fanatec set out to produce a Sub-200 €/$ Load Cell Pedal set without compromising on durability and precision. Therefore, the standard two-pedal CSL kit can be optionally upgraded with a Clutch Kit, for €39,95.
The CSL Pedals are scheduled to ship on Jul 6, 2021.
