Fanatec QR2 Quick Release Adapter Available

It has been a long time coming, but Fanatec now finally released the new QR2 Quick Release Adapter. While no official release statement has been posted yet, the new QR2 Quick Release is already available via the official Fanatec Website.

The follow-up of the sometimes criticized QR1 adapter should result in a more rigid, user-friendly, way to connect your steering wheel to the wheelbase, while eliminating the use of retention bolts and locking nuts as featured in the QR1 solution.

Thanks to the new design and precise manufacturing processes, you should also find a reduction in mechanical noise while driving, and an improvement in force feedback detail. QR2-equipped wheels can be attached to a Fanatec Wheel Base without touching the spring-loaded sleeve mechanism, making it quicker and easier to start racing. The new design also makes the electronic connection for data and power more secure.

That said, the QR2 Quick Release Adapter comes in many flavors and will need some investigation before you actually can figure out which is the correct version you would need when you decide to upgrade.
