Seeing a Sim Racer driving a real racing car is not a new thing. We have also seen a number of successful YouTubers, offered a ride in a race car due to the visibility and marketing opportunities it generates. That’s all cool, and fun to watch.
However, if there is one passionate sim racing Youtuber out there that in my humble opinion deserved the chance to experience the real deal, it must be GamerMuscle. Members of his popular channel know him as a very funny down to earth character able to combine the serious and less serious side of virtual motorsports. Furthermore, the Tea master often tries to find the realism factor of virtual cars, and sim racing Force Feedback Systems.
Would it not be great if he could experience the thrill and feel of the real deal, in order to compare it to the excitement of a home simulator.
So now it happened. The British Se7en Motorsports company that builds and runs a number of Clubman race cars, invited our favorite YouTube Sim Racer to have a go in a real-world racing car.
Enjoy.
GamerMuscle said: Thanks to www.se7enmotorsports.co.uk I was able to jump into a real-world race car for the day allowing me to compare the experience of driving a car in simulators like iRacing, Assetto Corsa, and GT-Sport with the real thing.
Honestly, it’s surprising how close simulators come to reality especially the first Assetto Corsa with its fantastic FFB that allows you to feel what the car is doing in a very similar way to how you feel the car through G forces in reality. Also very striking is how close Virtual Reality headsets mirror the experience of being sat inside of a real race car. Really goes to show you the incredible work Sim Racing Developers have done over the years!
