Gran Turismo MAZDA LM55 Vision Unveiled

Polyphony Digital released could not have ended the year without presenting us with a Chrismas gift. To celebrate the holiday season, they revealed the “Mazda LM55 Vision Gran Turismo” for Gran Turismo 6.

The car that was designed by Ikuo Maeda and his Mazda Design team, represents a futuristic Le Mans Prototype, in honor of the legendary 1991 Mazda 787B (Nr.55) that was the first Japanese and the first rotary engine car to win the famous Le Mans 24 hour race. The Design team have not mentioned the engine type in the car but made it clear that the fictional sports-car is featuring Mazda’s innovative ‘SKYACTIV’ technology for increased fuel efficiency. When Mazda revealed the famous and now departed Furai, it was clear that the Design team takes great pride in the esthetics of a sports-car. It seems no different for the LM55. This is just about the most beautiful Le Mans Prototype we have ever laid eyes on.

The Mazda LM55 can be purchased from the “Vision GT” area or by completing a lap in the new seasonal event at the Gran Turismo 6 Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca track.
