Gran Turismo Sport – Animated Pitstops
Youtuber aderrrm3 posted a video capture of a pitstop sequence in Polyphony Digital’s upcoming Gran Turismo Sport title.
When driving into the pitlane, the player’s view will switch to an animated pit crew cut scene. There you will be able to select tyres and optionally select engine, suspension, and aero repairs. This does indicate that besides the earlier teased visual damage, Gran Turismo Sport will also feature a mechanical damage model. Once the pitstop is finished, the player’s view will switch back to gamer mode when leaving the pitlane.
Gran Turismo Sport will be a new iteration of the world-renown racing simulation franchise. The game is currently in development as a VR-compatible racing game and will be the first console racing title to feature online competitions sanctioned by the FIA (Federation International Automobile). The game will feature +-140 premium cars and 19 locations featuring 27 layouts. Gran Turismo Sport was first scheduled to be released late 2016 but was later on delayed to ensure the game’s quality.
Gran Turismo Sport will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 later this year.
