Hardware – Z1 Dashboard Software Version 3.1.0 Released. |
A huge overhaul of the graphics engine provides a big step forward in performance. Version 3.1.0 seems a 4 times performance increase and zero page faults while driving. This makes running multiple instances much more feasible than before. The biggest addition in options for the user is the scaling option. This determines the base size of the rendering surface, with 1.0 being 480×272 pixels. You can set the scaling factor to any value greater than zero. 1.0 equals 480×272 pixels. 1.5 equals 720×408. 2.0 equals 960×544. Any value can be used. We suggest setting it to a value that lets you not have to resize the screen at all. Talking about resizing, by default we have turned this off. You can turn it back on by setting autoResize to true in the settings.ini file. Having it off provides better performance as well as better image quality. (Again, the scaling option above should be used to set the size of the dashboards for best results.)
As well as dashboards you get:
Z1 Sim Wheel: A fully customizable wheel for computer racing. Z1 Sim Wheels now offers an LCD Screen which can be integrated into a wheel, or housed in a small box for attaching to existing cockpits, desks, etc. The screen is 480×272 pixels and 16 bit color. There are various displays on the wheel. The software to run the wheel display is included with the wheel, and will be freely available. Any updates, bug fixes, new display screens, etc, will be posted on our site and are available for free to anyone who purchases a screen. |
