Heusinkveld Engineering Sim Shifter Sequential update
Heusinkveld Engineering released some more info regarding their Sim Shifter Sequential, which is due for launch later this year. They report that the design is almost finalized, and that they are now focussing on the feel of the ‘throw’ of the shifter-stick. To finalise the design phase, a team of beta testers will be putting the prototypes trough there paces.
The first thing you will notice when looking at the supplied pictures is the small size of the unit. Heusinkveld Engineering reported that this is a design decision made early on, to make sure the Sim Shifter can be used in a multitude of environments. To make the Sim Shifter even more versatile, it will be shipped with sticks and handles of various lengths and shapes.
The accommodate a flexible set of mounting options, a bracket will be included making it possible to mount the shifter from the side or bottom. For those of us who use a desktop to mount their wheels, a sturdy table clamp will be included. Heusinkveld Engineering will offer a standalone version of the shifter (with an integrated USB-controller) as well as a version which can be plugged into an existing Heusinkveld Sim Pedals USB-controller.
Release date of the Sim Shifter Sequential is set for Q4 2014.
