Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Pro Review
Master reviewer Barry Rowland of Sim Racing Garage did an in-depth review of the Niels Heusinkveld HE Sim Pedals Pro set. Niels Heusinkveld made a name for himself, as a physics guru doing various mods, and more importantly as a part of the Reiza Studios Development team. Heusinkveld Engineering is a Dutch company that offers a broad array of products and services to the real and virtual racing scene. From advanced vehicle simulation software to simulator hardware. Niels has been designing and building high end Sim Racing pedals for a while now. On of these sets is the HE Pro pedal unit.
Barry ordered a set of HE Pro pedals and now takes us on a tour showing us the details and also reviews the performance and feel of the unit. Barry starts unpacking the unit and shows us all the components shipped. He explains the inner workings of the unit. In part two of the video he starts mounting and adjusting the Pro pedals. In part three, Barry has a final look at the electronics used, and does his hands on, or should we say foot on test with the pedals mounted in his Simxperience Stage 4 simulator rig.
Barry considers this a great set of pedals at the right price point and praises the feel of the clutch pedal. If your are on the lookout for a professional Sim Racing pedal set, make sure to check out this impressive three part review.
Last month just before the second batch of pedals where shipped, Niels Heusinkveld updated the Sim Pedals Pro units in order to enhance the usability of the set.
Sim Pedals Pro Enhancements:
- Easier adjustment of the throttle and clutch spring pre-load.
- Instead of using screw terminals to connect the pedals to the USB-controller, each pedal now will feature an RJ-plug to connect each pedal to the circuit board. After mounting the pedals in your cockpit, they will now be ready for calibration within seconds.
- New calibration software. Instead of using DI-view to calibrate pedals settings can now be adjusted and stored with a few mouse-clicks in a proprietary software tool. Using this software will also mitigate any remaining detection issues in iRacing for the few people that had them.
- Stainless steel parts will be tumble deburred resulting in a smoother and more consistent finish.
Heusinkveld Sim Pedals Pro are suitable for professional motorsport simulators. A strong, stiff, compact and durable design using custom developed 12bit USB electronics for an instant and accurate response. Maximum brake force is 55kg (120lbs), maximum clutch force is 17kg (34lbs). Fully adjustable pedal geometry and pedal force.
Prices range between €599.00–€719.00
