Hurley Haywood in the Simcraft APEX3 Full Motion Simulator
These days, racing simulators are a solid part of the real world racing scene. Professional Full motion simulators can be used as both a physical and mental preparation tool, and are often utilized to reduce the track-time costs when drivers have to familiarize themselves with a certain venue or circuit. One of the full motion simulators out there, designed and developed for such a purpose is the SimCraft APEX3 GTC rig.
Every so often, Simcraft invites a real world racing star, to test their well-known APEX3 GTC motion simulator. Recently, living legend Hurley Haywood jumped into the seat of the Simcraft simulator and strapped on a VR headset for a few laps in the iRacing Porsche.
Hurley Haywood is an American racing driver with a long list of prestigious race wins on his portfolio. Up until today, he is being regarded the most successful American endurance driver in history. Hurley managed to win five Daytona 24H races (1973, 1975, 1977, 1979, and 1991), two times the 12 Hours of Sebring (1973,1981), and three times the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans (1977,1983,1994). Furthermore, he is credited with the 1988 Trans-Am title, two IMSA GT Championship titles and 23 wins, three Norelco Cup championships, a SuperCar title and 18 IndyCar starts.
