I Wish You All A Very Happy 2019
So the 2018 race has come to an end, and 2019 has joined the starting grid. Looking back, the past 12 months have been amazing for the Sim Racing scene in general.
Throughout the year we have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the new sim racing releases and we were amazed by the number of new high-end Sim Racing hardware products on the market. When roughly 20 years ago, the Papyrus Design Group published the now iconic Grand Prix Legends racing simulator, nobody would have guessed that it would initiate the birth of a new type of hobby and that it would generate an entire commercial industry around it.
Also, in 2017 many predicted the slow rise of sim racing as an eSport, but it is clear that 2018 has been the tipping point. The past year we could witness the involvement and investments in Sim Racing eSports by a number of high profile companies from the gaming, corporate, and motorsport world. And it is safe to assume that during 2019 the interest in the Sim Racing niche will keep on expanding at a rapid rate. Sim Racing enthusiasts can look ahead at some exciting times, and who knows? Maybe the best is yet to come.
I am pleased to say that during the past eleven years, the Bsimracing community has significantly grown, and 2018 was no exception. It still is a real pleasure to bring you all daily Sim Racing news and that I very much enjoyed getting to know so many new friends in both the virtual and real racing world.
As every year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Bsimracing community members and all my loyal industry partners for their continued support. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to do what I love.
I wish you and your families a healthy, peaceful, and prosperous year ahead. 2018 was great, but I am sure we can make 2019 even better.
Wim,
