Portuguese Sim Racing gear manufacturer ImSim is best known for its stunning ImSim Alma motion simulator. However, the company set out to not just limit their product lineup to motion chassis.
During the 2021 Sim Racing Expo in Germany, ImSim revealed an early prototype of their new Talento sim racing pedals. As usual, ImSim has spent a lot of time brainstorming how and what needs to be done to bring sim pedals to the next level.
Now, Garreth Messham from Demon Tweeks and chief marketing officer at ImSim, Tiago Meireles Ribeiro have a detailed look at the new ImSim Talento sim racing pedals.
Features:
- Made with high-quality laser cut, vibratory tumbled stainless steel
- Uses automotive-grade position sensors
- True to life torsion sprang throttle
- Can be installed upright and inverted
- ImSim software allows the user to create, store and share different configuration profiles which is useful for different racing categories/simulation games or user preferences
- Designed to fit most commercial simulator chassis with its compact design, from off-the-shelf home systems to purpose-built professional simulators. Can be used with the ImSim interface plate or can be directly mounted to aluminum profile cockpits
The Talento Sim Pedals are available as a 2-pedal set and as a single clutch pedal to upgrade to a 3-pedal set. The pedals provide you with the best performance, reliability, and comfort.
Using the very best components such as high-quality stainless steel, and automotive-grade sensors with advanced mechanical engineering design and manufacturing processes (CAD, FEA, CNC machining, and precision laser cutting).
With an industry-leading pedal feel endorsed by professional racing drivers, the Talento pedals will give you the consistency needed to be ahead of the field. The brake pedal provides up to 160Kg/353lbs of braking force that is measured by a 200Kg/440lbs load cell. The pedal set includes elastomers for a maximum of 100Kg/220lbs of brake force.
A performance kit is available to purchase separately to unlock the full performance of the Talento sim pedals. Single or multi-stage force on the brake pedal to simulate pad to disc gap, as well as several different stiffnesses and pedal travel lengths. The throttle pedal has a maximum force of 12Kg/26lbs and features a unique tool-less mechanical solution for changing between different force curves with a 3-click cam driver pre-load setting that is interchangeable in under a second.
The clutch pedal has a maximum force of 18Kg/40lbs. It is designed to simulate the feeling of engaging and disengaging a physical clutch. It is also engineered to allow for different maximum force and pedal travels as well as how pronounced the clutch bite simulation is, providing the user with a more linear feeling if such is desired.
To unlock the full potential of the Talento Sim Pedals, the ImSim Talento Sim Pedals Performance Kit is available separately as well as the Universal Interface Plate that provides the pedals with a rock solid support.
ImSim started life as a daughter company of the Portuguese SIRMAF firm, which design and manufactures custom machinery, software, and robotics for the automotive industry. After analyzing a wide variety of markets, SIRMAF decided that with their expertise and professionalism, it might be interesting to develop a motion simulator product that could be sold directly to the end-user.
The ImSim brand was born, and the new company started developing a 3DOF motion simulator that was not only very functional but also a feast for the eyes. In their own words, motion simulator aesthetics should reflect its purpose, and their initial design already proved that theory.
Over the years, InSim further developed the product and perfected both the functionality and aesthetics of the simulator. The product also received its official name and is now known as the ImSim Alma. That name was chosen wisely as it is the Portuguese word for soul and character.
