iRacing is getting ready to deploy the 2020 Season 4 build update for their online racing service. Besides the usual list of fixes, improvements, and new features, the upcoming September build will also be introducing some exciting new content.

One of the most anticipated releases is the 2017 Dallara P217 LMP2 endurance racer. In the past few weeks, we could already enjoy a few sneak peek screenshots and teaser videos, and a 4.5-minute official Dallara P217 LMP2 introduction video.

Today, iRacing published a new video, showcasing some onboard action of the new Dallara P217 LMP2 lapping the Imola, Daytona, and Lime Rock Park circuits.

The Dallara P217 is a Le Mans Prototype racing car built by the Italian Dallara Automobili company, complying with 2017/2020 FIA/ACO regulations for the Le Mans Prototype LMP2 class.

It currently is active in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series. Gibson Technology is the exclusive engine supplier. Therefore, all the LMP2 cars are powered by a Gibson 4.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine, producing around 600 bhp.

In the USA, a Daytona Prototype International variant of the car has been developed in partnership with General Motors, under the Cadillac brand, meeting the regulations for the Le Mans Prototype 2 Class of the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.

The American Daytona Prototype International class (DPi) cars are based on the 2017 LMP2 rules but are allowed to feature custom bodywork and road car manufacturer engines.
