iRacing deployed the 2024 Season 4 Patch 2 and Hotfix 1 for its online racing service. For all the details check out the Release Notes below.

2024 Season 4 Patch 2 Release Notes:
SIMULATION:
Connectivity
- Fixed an issue with the Ping Server for systems with both IPv4 and IPv6.
Physics
- The amount of natural clutch bite variance has been reduced.
iRacing Weather System
- Fixed an issue where a significant temperature change occurred at exactly 4 hours and 6 minutes into any Session using Static Weather.
- Fixed an issue where a dirt texture appeared on windshield banners whenever it was raining.
Official Racing
- Fixed an issue with the Distributed Splits Algorithm where the Race Scheduler occasionally failed to use the new split-forming algorithm and instead fell back to the original version.
Dirt Racing
- Fixed a visual issue where opponent vehicles could appear to have the incorrect wheel stiffness.
Graphics
- Fixed an issue where dirt was not being cleared properly on rain-enabled cars.
- A variety of vehicles have had their footwells darkened.
- Fixed an issue with some car paint schemes where the windshield could appear to be color-tinted.
Audio
- Some rain sounds have been reverted back to .WAV format.
- – – An issue was noticed with some rain sounds causing a pulsing sound – we will investigate.
Pits
- Fixed an issue where Lollipop Guy could appear to have some visual popping as you changed camera distances from him.
CARS:
<Car Class> [Legacy] NASCAR Xfinity Class Cars
- Fixed an issue where opponent cars were always invisible. They were trying an experimental new type of stealth racing – it did not go well.
Aston Martin Vantage GT4
- For the damage model, fixed an issue where some rear pieces were missing at certain camera distances.
BMW M4 G82 GT4
- Mirrors have been reordered to match the BMW M4 GT3.
- Paint pattern texture files have been updated for better number board placement for non-official paint schemes.
- Fixed a texture issue with the specular map.
Dallara IR18
- Anti Roll Bars may no longer be adjusted while the vehicle is actively cornering.
- iRacing setups have been updated.
Dirt Mini Stock
- Tire wear rate has been reduced.
- Tire Pressure Min/Max values have been constrained further to work great for both asphalt and dirt tracks (10/20psi left and right).
- Visor tear-off may now be bound to a hotkey for this car.
- The windshield tear-off option has been removed from the Black Box.
- Windshield shaders have been updated.
- Fixed an issue where the steering column was invisible.
Ferrari 296 GT3
- Fixed an issue where the engine could stall during a spin.
- IMSA logos have been updated for improved clarity.
Ford Mustang FR500S
- Fixed an issue where some wiper animations could look floppy.
Ford Mustang GT3
- A flaming hot new paint pattern is now available for this car.
Hyundai Elantra N TCR
- Chassis texture has improved white balance for the latest PBR shaders.
Hyundai Veloster N TCR
- Chassis texture has improved white balance for the latest PBR shaders.
Ligier JS P320
- Fixed an issue with some cockpit reflections during rainy weather.
McLaren 720S GT3 EVO
- Improved in-car engine sounds and added new transmission and drivetrain sounds.
- Patched a space where you could partly see through the bodywork from the cockpit.
- Windshield wiper animation splines have been updated.
- Number location has been adjusted slightly to help center numbers in the number board.
- The IMSA Leaderboard panels have been added to the interface models where appropriate.
- Camber has been added to the UI model to match the suspension shown.
Mini Stock
- Tire wear rate has been reduced.
- The windshield tear-off option has been added to the Black Box.
- Paint pattern texture files have been updated for improved placement of rear sponsors.
- Windshield shaders have been updated.
- Fixed an issue where the steering column was invisible.
- Fixed an issue where the right-rear tire hub was missing at close camera distances.
[Legacy] Dallara DW12
- Anti Roll Bars may no longer be adjusted while the vehicle is actively cornering.
TRACKS:
Cadwell Park Circuit
- Fixed an issue where brake markers could disappear at lower graphics settings.
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
- Barney, Legendary Flagman, has arrived at this version of the track! He was stuck in the past version of the track, and had to practice advanced chronomancy to get here.
- (Grand Prix Pits) – A placeholder wall from the pit entrance has been removed.
- (Bike) – Paint lines have been added to better define the alternate Turn 9.
- A missing sausage curb has been found and installed at Turn 1.
- Some missing grasscrete has been added to Turn 13 and Turn 14.
- Fixed an issue where colored surface paint could disappear on lower graphics settings.
- The Ferris wheel is now fully animated and lit!
- Fixed an issue with grass growing on the green drainage channel.
- Some trees have been added to the areas around Bruxelles.
- Patched a few holes in the terrain.
- Some terrain colors have been improved.
- The color of drains near curbs have been updated.
- The loading screen image has been updated.
Homestead Miami Speedway
- (Road Course A & B) – Fixed an issue where some brake markers disappeared with Objects Detail set to “Low”.
Knockhill Racing Circuit
- Fixed an issue where it could rain inside the pit garage.
Lånkebanen (Hell RX)
- Fixed a critical issue where this track was failing to load.
- – – The root cause of this issue was related to a speaker playing the newly encoded environment sounds found inside a bush at this track.
2024 Season 4 Patch 2 Hotfix 1:
SIMULATION:
iRacing Weather System
- For Forecasted Weather Mode, fixed an issue where cloud cover and rain predictions were being calculated incorrectly in the short term.
- – – This fixes an issue where the Spotter would continually call out upcoming weather changes incorrectly. Please be advised that your Spotter is not a meteorologist – he’s just doing the best he can.
Heat Racing
- Fixed an issue where the track surface temperature could spike an extra 45°F if a Session within a Heat Racing event was skipped. This is not what was meant by “heat” racing!
Graphics
- Fixed an issue with rain-enabled car windshields where extremely dramatic and opaque sunspot shines or shadow flares could appear on the glass.
- Fixed an issue where chrome and brushed wheels could appear black in interface images.
- Fixed an issue where some cars appeared to have lost their windshield glass in the paint shop.
Audio
- Improved the sounds for rumble saw-tooth curbs.
- Fixed an issue where many engine starter sounds would fail to play.
Telemetry
- Some values for the Push-to-Pass system (P2P) have been added to telemetry.
- – – P2P_Count = Displays the total number of seconds of P2P remaining.
- – – P2P_Status = Displays if the P2P system is active.
CARS:
Lotus 49
- The brake bias adjustment increment has been reduced from 0.5% to 0.25%.
McLaren 720S GT3 EVO
- Aerodynamic drag has been increased slightly, clutch inertia has been increased, and engine inertia has been decreased to match information from McLaren.
NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Camry
- For the damage model, fixed an issue with the attachment points for the front fenders.
NASCAR Cup Series Next Gen Ford Mustang
- Adjusted the lighting properties on the metallic nose strip.
NASCAR Xfinity Ford Mustang
- Adjusted the lighting properties on the metallic nose strip.
TRACKS:
Daytona International Speedway
- (Road Course) – The slowdown penalty at the first left curb in the Bus Stop has been relaxed slightly. Drivers now need 2 tires in the grass at the center of the apex to trigger the slowdown penalty.
Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg
- For all configs that use the main pit lane, the safe entry rule has been tightened up. Cars now must clear the racing surface before the green-painted area.
Watkins Glen International
- Some missing water drains have been added.
