iRacing BMW Z4 GT3
iRacing Executive Vice President and Executive Producer Steve Myers posted the first in-game preview screenshots of the upcoming BMW Z4 GT3 for the iRacing Online racing platform. in this screenshot you can see the BMW parked on the development version of the Circuit of the Americas. When released the car will become part of the iRacing GT3 Series. In this series iRacing members will be able to choose between the RUF ( Porsche GT3 replacement), Mclaren MP4-12c and this BMW z4 GT3, bringing a 3 car multi-class to the official GT Series races. ( At this moment only the RUF and the McLaren make up the class)
Steve also confirmed that the BMW Z4 will be released in april of this year. If the car proves to be as drivable and popular as the RUF track version, this will without question make the GT Series the biggest class in iRacing. The present iRacing GT Series have proven to fill up the race splits day after day.
The European BMW Z4 GT3 is built to FIA GT3 regulations, but is modified in the united states to fit the GTE class regulations. The BMW Z4 GT3 is as a factory customer car that can be purchased by private teams. It is Powered by a 4.4-litre eight-cylinder engine derived from the BMW M3 GTS, and can produce approx. 515 PS (379 kW; 508 bhp), weighting in at 1,190 kilograms.
Between race fans, the car is known for its very recognisable up and downshift sounds. ( Have a listen here) So lets hope iRacing can equal the sound quality of the RUF model. The iRacing GT Series car models might become a match made in heaven. What car would you pick? McLaren, BMW or RUF?
