iRacing – BridgeToGantry’s Dale Lomas drives the Nordschleife
Fans of the Nürburgring Nordschleife will undoubtedly know the www.bridgetogantry.com unofficial Nürburgring blog and fansite. Dale Lomas who is the author of the website is somewhat considered a Nordschleife expert.
At the 2015 SimRacing Expo, Dale visited the iRacing booth to do a few virtual laps on the laser scanned version of the world famous track. In this video Dale shares his first impressions.
While the available development version of the iRacing Nordschleife was only 60% finished, Dale was blown away by the accuracy and detail of the digital creation.
Dale Lomas also compared the iRacing version with some competing titles that already include a virtual version of the Green Hell.
It felt so ‘right’ and so natural my brain could barely believe it. Needless to say, if the Forza title was anywhere near as realistic as iRacing, or my current favourite Assetto Corsa, I would be telling you more. But just a few minutes in the demo booth proved to me it isn’t.
I’m playing Project Cars on PS4, and I love the way it simulates a race weekend and a championship. It’s a kick-ass game. But their Nürburgring is utterly woeful when compared to AC, which is the current ‘par’.
Once more it was confirmed that the Nürburgring Nordschleife for iRacing is planned to be released this November.
