iRacing Formula Renault 2.0 First Look by ISR

Next week March 8th, iRacing will release the Formula Renault 2.0 for the iRacing Online Racing Service. Since the www.isrtv.com team has access to the iRacing Beta versions, they had the opportunity to pre-test the Formula Renault 2.0 and share their first impressions with us.

ISR’s John Sabol takes a first look at the new iRacing Formula Renault 2.0.  John takes the new open wheeler trough its paces at the virtual iRacing Brands Hatch circuit and shares his initial impressions. John also discusses the performance of the car while using the DX11 version of iRacing and compares the Renault with the older but still popular iRacing Formula Star Mazda. Last but not least, near the end of the video John also demonstrates the tire dirt pickup feature that will be coming to the sim.

Besides the entry-level FR 2.0, iRacing has also licenced the Formula Renault 3.5. However, since Renault has now cancelled its support for the 2016 season of the 3.5 series, it is not yet clear if this will have any impact on the iRacing release. The real world Formula Renault 3.5 will continue its existence as the Formula 3.5 V8 Championship.
