iRacing is working on a laser scanned version of Lucas Oil Raceway, LOR in short and also called Indianapolis Raceway Park. It will be the next track to be released for the iRacing online service. Iracing posted a set of new previews of the 0.686 miles / 1.1km oval track , stating that the artwork is almost done and if all goes well, the iRacing Lucas Oil Raceway will be release with the Season 2 build that is coming up soon. The iRacing development team is also working on a night version of the track. The real world Lucas Oil Raceway also features a Road course and drag strip. As far as we know, iRacing have no plans to build the road course for the iRacing service.
The Lucas Oil Raceway is situated seven miles away from the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Built in 1958 on a former 267-acre farm the project was developed as a multipurpose auto racing facility incorporating an Oval track, Road track and drag strip.
NASCAR Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series fans will be very pleased with this release. From 1982 to 2011 the track hosted the Nationwide Series. The Camping World Truck Series raced on Lucas Oil Raceway from 2005 until 2011. From 2012 on the series moved to the better known to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
