iRacing – Members Turn 3 Billion Laps

Arguably, iRacing can be called the most loved, and most hated sim racing platform of all time. While many swear by the quality service and content, others hate it with a passion.

Whichever side you may be on, the proof may be in the pudding. At the end of last month, the iRacing customer count reached over 160,000, and now another iRacing record hits the stats as its members have turned no less than 3 Billion Laps in its 12-year existence. That is an approximation of 4,601,734,862 miles driven.

For now, my personal vote goes to the iRacing devotees, as they usually list a big number of quality features and the superb service as the reason for staying loyal to the platform. The haters on the other side, always seem to quote each other by criticizing the business and tire model. In my personal opinion, the price of a product, and the way a tire model is perceived are both very relative topics heavily influenced by your personal preferences.

But luckily enough, when it comes to racing simulators, we are spoiled for choice these days, and it’s pretty clear that there should be a favorite platform out there for just about anyone.

That said, I might be slightly biased, as yours truly is responsible for 79.978 laps of the 3 Billion iRacing laps. And I am sure I will add some more… 🙂
