iRacing Mercedes AMG GT3 Teaser Video and Renders

Next month iRacing will add a new car to their GT3 lineup. Together with the new iRacing build, the 2016 Mercedes AMG GT3 will become available for the world’s leading online motorsports simulation service.

To get the hype going, iRacing now released a short teaser video showing us the Mercedes AMG GT3 model in action on the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

iRacing added a funny detail to the video, giving the car a camera camouflage livery as seen so often on the Ring when car brands pre-test their new upcoming vehicles. (Car camo is usually used to hide the shape details of prototype cars and trick the advanced auto- focus systems on a modern camera.)

Mercedes -AMG recently presented their new 2015 GT3 weapon at the Geneva Motor Show. The new FIA GT3 compliant racer features a lightweight aluminum space frame and aluminum bodywork further supported by a selection of carbon fiber parts such as the regulation bucket seats, air intakes, aerofoil rear wing, and diffuser.

Rather than re-engineering the AMG GT’s 4.0-litre Biturbo V8 engine, Mercedes -AMG decided to power the GT3 with the same and 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 that also served in the previous GT3 SLS model. The car is set to be shipped out to customer racing teams around the world by the end of 2015.
