Back in August 2021, iRacing shared the first laser-scan images of the Australian Sandown Raceway venue. Now the developer has shared the first in-game screenshot of the popular Aussie track.
The circuit is located 25 km south-east of the Melbourne city center, in the suburb of Springvale. the circuit has been in operation since 1962. The track has hosted both endurance and sprint events on the Supercars calendar, with the Sandown 500 its most notable and historic event for more than five decades.
The current length of the track is 3.104 km and has 13 turns, but this simply designed track is best known for its long straights of 899 and 910 meters respectively. An original circuit that was used from 1962 until 1984 was 3.100 km long and had only eight turns while the circuit used from 1984 until 1998 was 3.878 km long and had 17 turns.
At the time of writing, no release schedule was shared.
