iRacing – The Corvette C7 DP & NASCAR Xfinity Toyota Camry.
iRacing.com is getting ready to release the newest build of their iRacing Online Racing Simulation. The new build was supposed to be released today, but due to some minor setbacks, the update has been rescheduled for tomorrow. (Wednesday)
To soften the wait iRacing posted a little in-game video showcasing the new members of the iRacing car lineup: The Corvette C7 Daytona Prototype and the NASCAR Xfinity Toyota Camry. Both cars will become available when the new iRacing update goes live.
The virtual iRacing Corvette version is developed in partnership with Chevrolet, Pratt & Miller, Coyote and Whelen Motorsports assuring an authentic and pixel accurate laser scanned version of the nicest looking DP on the TUSC grid.
In the real world, the Corvette C7 DP competes in the Tudor United SportsCar Championship (TUSC) and features a body kit that reflects styling cues of the C7 Corvette Stingray production car. The all-new iRacing Corvette Endurance racer will be coming to your iRacing instalment on September 8th. The car will be featured in the official IMSA iRacing.com Online SportsCar Championship.
“It’s been a bit of fun and educational working with the iRacing people to develop the C7,” says Eric Curran, who co-drove the Action Express Corvette to victory with Dane Cameron at Detroit and Road America. “Their attention to detail is amazing. We’ve also had a blast working on the digital car’s setups and performance to make sure they accurately reflect those of the ‘real’ Whelen Corvette. I can’t wait to take it for a spin with the members.”
“We’re really excited to bring the Corvette C7 to iRacing,” says Steve Myers, iRacing.com Executive Vice President and Producer. “The Corvette is as fast as it is beautiful and I’m sure our members will be chomping at the bit to get behind the virtual wheel of the car and compete in IMSA’s official online sportscar series.”
The NASCAR Xfinity Toyota Camry’s release culminates more than a decade of meticulous effort by iRacing to develop the most accurate and complete catalogue of virtual NASCAR-sanctioned race cars and tracks.
“Offering this unparalleled quality and quantity of NASCAR content, in the NASCAR-sanctioned online series is certainly unique,” says Tony Gardner, President of iRacing.com. “Although it took years to partner with the tracks, manufacturers and teams, the greater challenge was building a superior quality experience and equally authentic virtual versions of NASCAR-sanctioned race cars. NASCAR has been a great partner and supporter throughout our effort to give their racing fans a chance to see what it feels like to race door-to-door in the cars and on the tracks of the various NASCAR series.”
