iRacing – Tsukuba Circuit Preview Video

The release date of the iRacing 2019 Season 1 build is getting closer.  On the 4th of December, iRacing will deploy the last update of 2018 packed with new features and exciting new content.

Besides the Dallara Formula 3, and the Formula Renault 3.5, the 2019 Season 1 build will also bring us the North American Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval track and the Japanese Tsukuba Circuit as part of the iRacing base package meaning the tracks will be free for all existing and new members.

Today, iRacing published a small preview video showing us a glimpse of the laser-scanned Tsukuba Circuit.

The Tsukuba Circuit is a racing track located in Shimotsuma, a neighboring city of Tsukuba, Japan. It’s really two tracks in one. Course 1000 and Course 2000, with multiple variations of both. Course 2000 is the original track and is approximately 2..45 km long. Course 1000 was added later and is approximately 1 km in length. Both layouts include multiple configurations for a total of seven options.

The track was established in 1966 with the aim of attracting young people to participate in motorsports but was not actually completed until 1970. At the present time, an event is held every week. The track has a large variety of corners, ranging from wide sweepers to hairpins and features a small chicane corner that is used for motorcycle racing only.
