Making clear it was not an April Fools post, iRacing has shared a new in-game screenshot showcasing the progress made on the implementation of the new weather-based system for its online racing platform.
Alongside the work on the rain system, the dev team has also been working hard to improve the graphics and physics of the sim, reaching what they call “a significant milestone” on the tire model.
At the time of writing, no official release schedule has been communicated.
While in the past many racing simulators have been criticized for not having wet-weather races, it is safe to say that the platforms that did have the rain feature noticed one main thing… Most sim racers out there seem to find it important to have the ability to do a wet race but rarely do.
Let’s hope iRacing can change this rather weird trend.
