ISR – Logitech Driving Force Shifter Review
Darin Gangi and co-host John Sabol from Inside Sim Racing present their review of the Driving Force Shifter from Logitech.
In this review, Darin and John take the shifter trough its paces to find out if this new Logitech product is worth the upgrade when already owning an older G27 unit.
The Logitech Driving Force Shifter is compatible with the new G29 and G920 Driving Force Racing Wheels. This Six-speed shifter with push-down reverse features a durable solid steel shaft and hand-stitched leather boot and knob covers. It comes with a built-in clamp system to mount the unit securely to a tabletop or racing rig. The Driving Force Shifter is compatible with PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7.
All in all, we do feel that the new Logitech shifter is nothing more than a repackaged G27 shifter with less functionality than its predecessor. In comparison to the identical but older G27 unit, the Driving Force Shifter does not feature the 8 controller buttons and D-Pad. Keep in mind that the older G27 shifter is compatible with the G29 and G920 wheels, although you will lose the button functionality. Furthermore, the older G27 shifter will be compatible with the PlayStation 3 while the otherwise identical new Driving Force shifter is not.
The Logitech Driving Force Shifter is on sale for EUR 59,99 / $59.99.
